Equal Opportunities Policy
It is the intention of this Company to ensure that its’ employees are aware of and will comply with all aspects of the Equal Opportunities Policy. We will endeavour to offer employment vacancies to all ethnic races of both sexes whether married or not.
We shall aim to ensure that no job applicant or employee receives less favourable treatment on any grounds, which, cannot be shown to be justified.
These include race, colour, nationality, ethnic or national origin, religious beliefs, gender, marital status, responsibility for children or other dependants, disability, sexual orientation, transsexuality, age, trade union or political activities, social class, where a person lives or spent convictions.
Disabled applicants will be employed where there is a suitable vacancy, where the work undertaken can be carried out safely, without risk to the applicant or other employees.
We will ensure that our employment policies and procedures do not discriminate intentionally or unintentionally.
We will recognise the religious and cultural needs of our employees.
We will tell all of our employees, both verbally and in written form about our Equal Opportunities Policy and also inform all job applicants, Job Centre, Careers Offices etc.
We will take the necessary disciplinary action where there is evidence of any racial or sexual discrimination, abuse or harassment.
We will inform the Job Centre and Careers Office of all vacancies.
We will keep records of all applicants who apply for work or training.
Each year we will examine how we advertise vacancies and select people to work or train, to ensure that there is no discrimination and will review progress with our Equal Opportunities Policy.
If there is below average proportion of ethnic minority employees/trainees or applicants, we will obtain advice on how to encourage applicants from such groups.
We will provide information on how we operate our Equal Opportunities Policy to any interested parties.
We will agree our Equal Opportunities Policy with the Trade Union.
We will follow the Commission for Racial Equality, the Equal Opportunities Commission and the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 Codes of Practice on employment.
Any employee or job applicant who feels that they may have a complaint under this policy should raise the matter with the Managing Director.
